This is the shortest path from a fresh account to a published Privacy Policy. It assumes you have a Dekimu account (you sign in at id.dekimu.com) and that miniterms is part of your entitlement.
Step 1 — Sign in
Go to miniterms.com and click Sign in. You will be bounced to id.dekimu.com/auth and back. There is no separate miniterms password; identity is owned by Dekimu Hub. When you land on the dashboard, you are signed in.
Step 2 — Fill in your business profile
Open Business profile in the sidebar. miniterms generates your documents from this single record: entity name, legal form, tax ID, registered address, website URL, contact email, privacy contact email, jurisdictions and languages. Save it once and you can regenerate every document from it later.
To generate a Privacy Policy, the profile needs at least:
- Entity name
- Registered address
- Contact email
- Website URL
- Tax ID — only when Spain is ticked under Jurisdictions
If a field is missing, Generate tells you which one instead of filling it with sample text.
Step 3 — Set your jurisdiction
The jurisdiction comes from the Jurisdictions section of your business profile, not from a choice in the generator. Two are available: Spain (GDPR + LOPDGDD) and EU (generic GDPR). UK GDPR and CCPA are listed as coming soon and cannot be selected.
Tick Spain if your business is established in Spain. Adding Spanish under Languages ticks Spain for you; adding English or another EU language ticks EU.
Step 4 — Generate
Click + Generate document in the top bar and pick Privacy Policy. The scope line shows what will be generated:
- Spain ticked in your profile → the Spain template, in Spanish
- otherwise → the EU generic template, in English
Press Generate draft. miniterms renders the document in your browser from your business profile and subprocessor list, and shows the result below as a Markdown preview. From there you can:
- Save as draft — stores it in your workspace with a version number; saved drafts show up on the Documents page
- Copy markdown — copies the text to your clipboard
- Download .md — downloads it as a Markdown file
Your profile does not capture everything a policy covers (processing purposes, data categories, DPO status), so those clauses start from conservative defaults. miniterms has no editor for the generated text: read the draft and, before you publish it on your site, edit those clauses in your copy so they match how your business really works.
Step 5 — Publish
You have two options:
- Download ZIP — download your latest saved Privacy Policy, Terms, Cookie Policy and DPA drafts as Markdown and publish them on your own site
- Dekimu Hub sync — for Hub customers: your Hub site's footer links to the document URLs recorded in miniterms
miniterms never hosts the canonical copy of your policy; your own site does. Link the published page from your site footer. See Hosting options for the full comparison.
That's it — you have a regulator-citation-backed Privacy Policy draft, published on your own site. Next, generate a Terms of Service and a Cookie Policy from the same profile.
